LPS TIGER TALK
LPS Weekly Newsletter ~ 9/16/2022
Message From The Principal
Today is the kick-off for the LEPTA Dance-a-thon fundraiser. We are always excited to kick off this annual event for our PTA. They do a wonderful job supporting staff and students in grades Pre-K through 4.
Our PTA provides learning experiences and fun events that our students otherwise might not get such as grade level field trips, in-house presentations, and the Kona Ice Truck. If you are able, I'd love to encourage you to support the great things our PTA does by sponsoring a student for the Dance-a-thon on September 30th. Don't forget to ask family, friends, and colleagues to consider sponsoring a LPS Tiger too!
We sincerely appreciate our parents and the Parent Teacher Association for all they do to make our student experience even better! Have a wonderful weekend! We will see our Tigers on Monday.
Sincerely,
Kevin Fancher
**Loveland City School District Earns 5-Star Report Card**
Loveland City School District is excited to announce the results of the 2021-2022 Ohio School Report Card. The district scored a 5-star rating in every category.
“This is a tremendous achievement for Loveland City School District, and a testament to the hard work of our students and their families, and the outstanding support offered by our outstanding staff,” Superintendent Mike Broadwater said.
Loveland City School District earned five stars in every component of the Ohio School Report Card, including Achievement, Early Literacy, Gap Closing, Graduation Rate, and Progress. Loveland City School District is only one of 12 districts across the state of Ohio to earn all five-star ratings, placing the district in the top 2% in Ohio.
“Two goals of our #beLOVEland Strategic Vision are student success and fiscal responsibility. Being able to achieve at a high level while keeping a close eye on the bottom line is further evidence that we are delivering a fantastic educational value for our Loveland City Schools community. We look forward to their continuing support,” Broadwater said.

Kindness Club Compassion Project
LPS Kindness Club will be working together with LES Kindness Council on their compassion projects for this school year. We are excited to start our year of spreading compassion by collecting NEW books for the patients of Cincinnati Children’s Hospital and the families at The Ronald McDonald House. Each year, Cincinnati Children’s serves patients from over 50 countries and all 50 states. To spread some cheer, we are asking for donations of NEW picture/chapter books of any kind. Donations can be given to your child’s teacher and will be collected through October 7th, in conjunction with the weeks of Book Fair for LES & LPS. The class that collects the most NEW books will win a $50 Scholastic gift card, donated by LEPTA, for their teacher to buy new books for their class.
In addition, we will also be running a coin drive during the weeks of September 26 - October 7. Proceeds of the coin drive will be used to buy books to donate to Cincinnati Children’s as well, so bring in those coins!! The more books we can donate, the more smiles we can bring!! Thank you so much for your support!
Social Thinking
This week we have talked about the Size of the Problem in our Social Thinking lessons. We practiced determining whether a problem can be solved with or without a grown up. We also learned about matching the size of our reaction to the size of the problem. See below for more details and be sure to ask your child about a 1-2 problem!
