Our Shining Stars Showcase SY21
Our first Shining Star to be showcased is Oasis Alexander, a 2nd grade scholar from Ms. Posey's class. I want to thank Oasis for being willing to share her talent with our Mighty Bulldogs Family after first sharing with her classmates during the PBIS Show & Tell event. Congratulations Oasis! Check her out below.

Attendance: Truancy Letters
Parents, please be aware that the State of Maryland is upholdings its attendance expectations for SY21.
Per the Reopening plan, pg. 76, " Attendance Prince George’s County Public Schools (PGCPS) continues to follow the state and local guidance in collection of student and teacher attendance...Attendance for Students During Distance Learning For all distance learning platforms, students not present on days live instruction occurs will be considered absent. On days when students are unable to attend scheduled classes due to illness, parent work schedule, and child care; parents must communicate the reason for the student’s absence via email to the student's classroom teacher. All work assigned during the student’s absence remains required for submission. During distance learning only, technical issues such as broken equipment or internet outages must be immediately communicated to the student’s teacher and designated school staff so support can be provided as soon as possible."
Absences will be coded by the teachers based on the information received from the parent. Should you have any questions, please call the main office.

The Mighty Bulldogs Afterschool Academy
Please see below a post from our Assistant Principal, Mrs. Grant.
At the end of last school year, we had several parents express interest in volunteering to co-lead an after school club. Awesomeness!!!
If your schedule permits, please consider co-leading an after school club for our Mighty Bulldog scholars by completing the form below.

Distance Learning Handbook
The purpose of this handbook is to compile, in one place, the policies, procedures and forms that will enable Brandywine Elementary scholars to successfully fulfill his/her responsibilities during Virtual Learning. It has been prepared with the sincere hope that it will be used as a ready reference by families with concerns related to classroom procedures, administration policies and organization norms.
Suggestions on how to become better acquainted with your scholar(s), how to learn about school routines and procedures, and how to secure professional help are included.
The adopted policies are subject to modification, as situations require. The need may arise for revision of this handbook. Feel free to offer suggestions. It is only through cooperative efforts of everyone concerned that we hope to create a wholesome atmosphere/environment for all.
