The Start of 2016

We hope 2016 is treating all of you well! We also hope everyone had a safe and enjoyable holiday break, but most importantly, all the instructors and staff at Lights, Camera, Dancin’ would like to THANK YOU for their Christmas gifts! We truly appreciate your generosity and kindness. Thanks again for remembering all of us!!!


As a friendly reminder, we do not have dance room parties that take a portion of classroom time for Valentine's Day, St. Patrick's Day, or Easter. If you still would like to bring a treat for any of the above 3 holidays, you can, but you will have to pass out treats after class. We love Valentine's Day, St. Patrick's Day, and Easter, but all of our classes are getting ready for the Recital and classroom time is so important! Thank you for understanding!

Car Decals

Lights, Camera, Dancin’ car decals were available during Customer Appreciation Week. We will be doing a monthly drawing for everyone that displays their LIGHTS, CAMERA, DANCIN’ decal on their car. You are automatically entered in the drawing. Each month we will draw one name and if the decal is displayed on your car, you will win a $25 credit towards dance for the following month (in the event that you’ve paid for the entire year, we will apply the credit towards something else). Good Luck and thanks for supporting our Studio!

Don't forget to tell your friends about us! When you refer a friend to Lights, Camera, Dancin', they have 2 simple steps to follow: 1) Write your name down on the referral line of their registration form 2) Register for classes. Then, you will get a gift certificate from us to use at Lights, Camera, Dancin' to show our appreciation and THANK YOU for the referral!!!

One Stop Dance Shop and Recital Requirements

Just a reminder, dancers need to come to class dressed appropriately AND HAIR SECURELY PUT UP AND AWAY FROM THEIR FACE. Students need to attend class dressed in form fitting attire such as: leotards, tights, dance shorts and/or capris and hair up for girls. For boys, T-shirts with shorts or sweat/dance pants. All dancers need to wear the appropriate shoes. Please do not send your child to class in street clothes. For tumbling/dance acro, dancers should be in tumbling biketards or leotards and shorts with hair securely pulled back. All female dancers should be in a leotard in their ballet classes along with the appropriate shoes, skirt or shorts, and hair secured in a ponytail or bun. And dancers, please be sure you don’t wear your dance shoes outside. Thank you in advance for your cooperation. Keep in mind, LCD is your One Stop Dance Shop! We have it all from shoes to tights to dance apparel to our newest logo items! We will be placing orders on the 15th of each month and it usually takes about 7-10 business days for the merchandise to come in! If you are ready for new shoes, please check with your teacher(s) about specific styles and colors that will be needed for the Recital. Thanks!

Recital! Recital! Recital!

Mark your calendars for June 23rd through June 26th! There is a lot that goes into a Dance Recital including pictures, rehearsals, trying on costumes, purchasing tickets, and making sure everything is just right! Thank you for helping to make this the most memorable experience for your dancer(s) and of course for celebrating our 15th year in the Dance World with us!

The recital is like a dancer’s super bowl! Every dancer works so soo sooo hard all year and the recital is their time to show you what they’ve learned and how much they’ve improved! For those of you who were with us for the last dance recital and responded to our 'Recital Feedback' email, we really appreciate your input!


The instructors are beginning to select their costumes for each class. You will begin to notice the instructors beginning their dances over the next few months. It’s an exciting time of the year! Please make sure your dancer has the required shoes for their Recital dance both style and color. Thank you!

Moms' and Dads' Dance

Lights, Camera, Dancin’ is proud to offer a Moms' and Dads' dance in our dance recital! We would be absolutely thrilled to have you join us! There will be a sign-up sheet at the front desk after Spring Break. If you are seriously interested, please put your name, cell phone number and email address. If this is something you'd be interested in, please sign-up by Saturday, April 16th. Each parent group will have separate dances or one dance together depending on the amount of participants. There will be roughly 5-10 practices (give or take a couple) on mostly weekends during May and June. There could be a cost depending on the costume, etc. but the actual learning the dance is free! Yes, they are referred to as “The Dads’ Dance” and “The Moms’ Dance” but dancers are not limited to asking only Mom or Dad…Uncle, Cousin, Grandparents, Step Parents, Brother, Sister, etc. as long as they are 18 or older. If you have any questions, comments, or concerns, please feel free to contact me, thanks and I'm looking forward to working with you!

Keep Our Studio Clean

We ask for your help in keeping the studio clean. In addition, all eating and drinking should be done while sitting to avoid crumbs up and down the hallway, and please do your best to clean up after yourself. Also, we have a mini-fridge in the back of the studio. The fridge will be cleaned out every night so please label anything you choose to put in there. Please take a look in the Lost and Found! It is currently located at the front of the studio and it is FILLED to the top! We will be donating whatever is in the bin on Saturday, February 6th! Thank you for helping keep our studio clean and safe!


Please also remind your dancer to put wet shoes and boots on the black plastic boot trays in back by the cubbies-not in the cubbies when it's snowing or wet outside. Please also keep all street shoes (wet or dry) out of the dance rooms and off of the dance floors. Thank you!

Action Dance Crew

We are so thrilled to have new dancers and parents already inquiring about the Action Dance Crew 2016-2017 dance season! Action Dance Crew is the competitive and performing dance team here at Lights, Camera, Dancin'. Auditions for next season are held during Summer Camp 2016!


Our dance team is running a BIG FUND RAISER and we need your junk! By donating gently-used clothing, shoes, accessories, book, linens, and small household items (no furniture), you can help raise funds for the dance teams travel costs to Nationals this summer. We get paid for every pound of goods donated! It takes about 400 bags (13-gallon size) to equal $1000. The more bags we collect the more money the team earns towards Nationals. Don’t wait until Drive Day to gather up your goods. The best way to ensure a successful drive it to start collecting before the actual donation day. We welcome: clothing, shoes, accessories, handbags, books, linens, and small household items (no furniture). Let’s get together and stuff that truck! Collection day is February 6th from 12-3pm! Please keep what you've collected at your own home until the drop off February 6th! Thank you for your support!


The ADC dancers will be an important part of the Chicago Wolves Flashmob on Sunday, February 21st! We are looking forward to attending our second annual Flashmob! Ticket orders are due February 1st! Thank you!!
