Principal's Message

Dear SMG Families,

Here we are, beginning the final week of the semester and the last week of school before Christmas break. The excitement of the season is palpable in the hallways at SMG! Students, faculty, and staff are all looking forward to a fun week culminating in a break and the opportunity to share a beautiful Christmas season with family and friends.

Class Christmas parties will take place this Friday beginning at 11:00AM. All parents and visitors who plan to attend the classroom parties must be current on their Virtus (formerly Safe Environment) training. As well, if you are planning to attend your student's classroom party, please RSVP/email your child's homeroom teacher. If you have more than one student, simply let one of your children's teachers know you will be attending. All visitors must present an I.D. or drivers license, and be given a visitor's badge. In order to alleviate a long line, we are trying to preprint visitor badges for those of you who have been in the building recently and whose I.D. information is already in our Raptor Visitor Management System. We ask that all parents/visitors enter the building that morning through the cafetorium and check in with staff who will be there to greet and check in parents/visitors. Please understand that parents/visitors will not be permitted in the classrooms until 11:00AM and no one will be permitted without proper I.D. and successful check-in. School will dismiss at 12:00PM and no SMEED (Extended Day/After-School care) will be available that afternoon.

As the first half of the school year comes to a close, I wish to thank you all for your continued support and welcoming me to SMG this year. I am honored to be here as your principal and am so thankful for the gift of working with your precious children. I pray that you all enjoy a wonderful Christmas season, filled with God's graces and many blessings in the New Year!

St. Maria Goretti, Pray for Us!

Blessings,

Dinner, Dance, and Auction is Fast Approaching!

We are in need of cardboard boxes and old vinyl albums/records or cassette tapes to use for decorations at the Dinner Dance! Before you recycle all those Amazon boxes after Christmas or get rid of those old albums and cassettes, please bring them to the school office for the Dinner Dance Decoration committee!

Thank you!
