Behavior Adaptations Migration
Katelyn Batchelor
How Migration Ensures Survival
Migration is when organisms travel to other places so that they can find food and warmer weather. Many organisms migrate in order to survive from conditions that are harsh and dry to nice and pleasant conditions. It helps organisms survive when they are able to go to different environments that they can survive in. Through migration they organisms are able to adapt to many locations and their surroundings. Without Migration organisms would not be able to survive under the conditions in one certain area.
Migration of Birds
The birds are migrating to the south for the winter.
Migration of Penguins
The penguins migrate every year for breeding purposes.
Whales
The whales migrate between the cold waters in the summer to the warmer waters in the winter.
Hibernation
How Hibernation Ensures Survival
Hibernation occurs when organisms fall into a deep sleep. The organisms body temperature drops and the organisms heart beat begins to slow down. Also the organisms breathing begins to slow down which uses very little energy. The organisms have to prepare for hibernation by eating extra food and storing it as body fat.
