Principal's Corner

Hello Meadow Park Eagles,

We are looking forward to seeing so many of you for our Eagle Days Back to School Event. Last week, we mailed out Drive Through Event Flyer (link) to all Meadow PARK families outlining day and times according to grade level and the first letter of your last name. We highly recommend arriving at that time in order to ensure we don’t have a major traffic jam at the event! Please note that we don’t care which method you use to attend this event; we are happy to have folks walk or bike. Just know that you will still be going through the line and then heading out. We can’t have anyone simply hanging out at the school throughout the event due to restrictions on the number of people we can host. We will have stops for families with different things happening at each. The entrance will be off Downing (not through the apartments!) and you can view the route HERE.

We ask that you please keep in mind the following prior to and while attending this celebration:

  • If you are sick or have a family member sick with symptoms resembling the flu or coronavirus, stay home and join us via live streaming on Facebook and Instagram.

  • Vulnerable people, such as those with underlying conditions and older adults should stay home.

  • Do your best to maintain a physical distance of at least 6 feet at each station and throughout the celebration. Unfortunately, this means that we can’t shake hands, give high fives, or hug students as they come through the event. We are happy to do air-fives.

  • We recommend wearing a face mask for this event. If you are taking the face mask off for any reason (such as a picture), please put it back on when finished.

  • All family members arriving in cars are asked to remain in their vehicles. At stop 3, one person may exit the vehicle to take a quick picture of their child standing in front of the Meadow Park sign.

If you have not received the flyer in the mail and are wondering when you are scheduled to arrive, here’s a more detailed arrival breakdown by grade level and last name.

Tuesday, September 8th - 6th Grade Students

Wednesday, September 9th - 7th Grade Students

Thursday, September 10th - 8th Grade Students

In hopes of creating a smooth flow of traffic, try to attend according to your grade level (above) and the first letter of your last name (below).

A - D 5:00pm - 5:30pm

E - J 5:30pm - 6:00pm

K - M 6:00pm - 6:30pm

N - S 6:30pm - 7:00pm

T - Z 7:00pm - 7:30pm

See you this upcoming week!

In addition to cheering and saying hello to each of you, there will be activities at the different stations. These activities include:

  • Tying a ribbon with your child’s name on it to the Meadow Park fence to celebrate the beginning of the school year and our theme of “We are Better Together.”

  • Receiving a hard copy of your child’s course schedule with teacher names and class times

  • Taking a first day of school picture at the Meadow Park sign in front of the school. Parents taking the photo, please be sure you are wearing a mask upon stepping out of your vehicle.

  • School supply donations drop off if you are able to help (link for Meadow Park supply list)

  • Chromebook insurance fee payments ($20 cash or check ONLY) for those not able to pay online (link for device info)

  • Bring last year's school items - such as library or classroom books you forgot to return. We will return them to the appropriate teacher or school for you.

  • Locker item pick up for items left at school last spring. The front office will be calling to let you know if we have your child’s items.

  • Pick up your district assembled CDL School Supply Kit for students on free or reduced lunch or are in need of supplies to do their best learning while at home.

We are excited and can’t wait to see you all!
