United States Public Law requires that public educational institutions receiving federal funds teach about the Constitution on September 17th each year. The links may be used to incorporate into your lesson plans this week. Please let us know if you need any support implementing these resources in your classroom! Can't wait to see and hear everything teachers and students in Bay District Schools are doing to celebrate Constitution Day this Thursday!

PLC Writing Team Collaboration!
9th & 10th Grade ELA PLC at Work!
- Nancy Montague and Sylvonna Simmons brainstorm about PLC questions 1: What do we want students to learn? and 2. How will we know when they have learned it?
- Their norms, in short, are to start and end on time; participate equally in discussions without interruptions; decisions without negativity and keep an open mind when listening to new ideas.
- The Teaching Channel video on close reading will provide even more support for ELA PLCs. Take a look!

September Book -Study Tasks
At our October faculty meeting on the 7th, we will discuss Part I (A): Passion, Immersion, and Rapport. Please answer the above questions in preparation of that meeting and give specific examples of how you have taken the PIRATE challenge. Mrs. Palmer will create an in-service in AIMS so that you can earn points for this book-study. Looking forward to seeing new approaches to teaching and learning that will engage students in the journey!
