A note from your School Board Representative
HSSD Safety Update
The HSSD Safety and Security Committee has used State Safety Grant money to train employees on ALICE (threat response) and Trauma Informed Care (mental wellness). The Committee will continue to engage more students, parents, and community partners to provide a safe learning environment for our students and staff. Perhaps this is the most important work the Committee is accomplishing, as everyone’s voice matters in regard to safety and security. Doing what we can to protect our students, parents, and staff is our most important responsibility. If you have questions for the Board of Education, please reach out to your Board member Vanessa Moran at vanemora@hssdschools.org.
Parents of 4th grade Students
4th Grade Parents: On Wednesday, March 13th, students in 4th grade will visit Lineville Intermediate School for a Music Class Demonstration. Your child will need to choose a music class for 5th grade. Musicians in Band, Chorus, and Orchestra will perform for the 4th graders and discuss the music class options. After March 13th you will be able to register your choices for music and other classes using an internet link which will be emailed to you. Class registrations will be due by March 22nd.
More information about the music classes is available on the March 13th registration document and is also accessible on music class websites: http://linevillehssd.weebly.com/music.html
Student Council Fundraisers
Student Council is also selling suckers every Friday for $1 each; limit three per student. Sales take place before school in rooms 106 and 200. Lots of great flavors to pick from; and a great way to reward a great week!
