Mrs. Murphy's Musings

News from Room 22 - February 8, 2015

Reading Books for Home

I will no longer be sending home the little xeroxed books. Instead, the children will find new, smaller assignments on their RAZ-KIDS accounts with leveled books that are appropriate. The children can read the books as many times as they like and take a short quiz at the end of each book. The assignments can be found on the Assignment Icon.

Rad-Kids can be accessed on computers or you can get an app for iPads/tablets.

The website is:

Our class code for RAZ-KIDS is cmurphy84.

Twin Day

Next Friday (February 13) is Twin Day at Solana Highlands. Children can dress like a friend (or two, or three, or even more) and be twins for the day!

President Reports

On Thursday, February 12 the children will give their president reports to the class. Remember to have your child practice reading their information so they understand all of the words in their report. The reports do NOT need to be memorized. Feel free to allow your child to be creative and make a poster, dress up, or bring pictures to share.

Digital Dash Information

Wow! What amazing little runners we have in our room! Thank you to the parents and grandparents who came out to cheer us on. Another huge thank you to all the parents who volunteered to mark laps and help make the event a success. Didn't we look fabulous in purple? Go Murphy's Mad Dashers!!

Please remember to turn in Box Tops until February 24. Please send box tops in a baggie, an envelope, or tape them to the collection papers found near the front office.

Restaurant Fundraiser - Mia Francesca

On Tuesday, February 10 Mia Francesca in the Del Mar Heights Shopping Center is contributing a portion of proceeds to Solana Highlands. Please plan to have lunch or dinner out to support our school. There will be a catered lunch for the class with the most guests. Fill out the flyer in the Friday folder, take it with you, and cross your fingers.
