He was very popular and well known of his fashion, personality and just the way he carried himself.

Background

Prince was born on June 7, 1958 in Minneapolis, MN. He grew up around music because of his parents were both musicians and he has always been very talented ever since a child.

Why he deserves a monument

Prince deserves a monument because he was a legendary iconic figure in the music industry. Prince gained most of his popularity in the 80s and 90s and also Purple Rain, one of the most greatest albums of all time. His different style in fashion, great music with groundbreaking sound, his collaborations with upcoming artist, and just being a incredibly talented musician.

He has sold over 100 million records worldwide, making him one of the best selling artist of all time

In Minneapolis, Minnesota there is a nightclub called First avenue and 7th street entry. There are 531 names on the wall on the outside honoring the past performers. Prince as well as many other great performers name is on the wall.

April 21,2016 shortly after princes death many cities and buildings lit up in purple honoring his legacy and career.

My Monument

My monument would be Princes love symbol in bronze.

The monument would be located right outside Parsley park in Chanhassen, Minnesota .

It would be located there because Parsely park is his record label and studio.

He was born in Minnesota and he also died there plus he did most of his work there.

Controversy/Opposition

There isn't a lot of oppositions towards building a monument of Prince because he did a lot of things and no one can deny that he wasn't a successful artist that brought a lot to the music industry unless they don't like that type of music.

People think prince deserves a monument in Minneapolis but nowhere else.
