Our Savior's Lutheran Church*

Thursday, Aug. 6th, 8:30am to Saturday, Aug. 8th, 4pm

Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Mountain View Avenue, Colonie, NY, United States

*PLEASE NOTE THE CHANGE IN LOCATION. We apologize for any inconvenience.

Practicum Overview

Our speaker, Lizzy Adams, will share practical tools for bringing breadth and depth to your family’s learning, modeling how to draw out God’s truth in the subject of science. Furthermore, she will detail how the classical model takes education beyond a textbook for relational and transformational learning.

When you arrive at the church, please follow the signs to direct you to the registration area. Registration and Sign In begin each day at 8:30am. Adults will sign in upon entry and children will be registered in their classrooms. Please fill out and bring the Risk Release Waiver (sent as an attachment) with you. Your child cannot attend camp or nursery without it.

A student roster will be available for each room and will include a place for you to sign your children in upon arrival. This sheet will also be used for signing out at lunch time and at the end of the day. Children will only be released from camp after they have been signed out by a parent. This will assist the camp counselors with attendance, safety, and the security of your children.

The Practicum will begin promptly at 9 a.m. and conclude at 4 p.m. each day, so please allow at least 15 minutes or more on the first day for registration/sign-in. Children registered for a camp will need to be signed in daily so, again, please allow adequate time.

You may pack a picnic lunch for your family or visit a local restaurant. There is a large grassy area near the playground so you may wish to bring a picnic blanket with you for lunch. Please Note: due to some severe allergies to nuts among the children in attendance, we will have a NUT FREE TABLE in the lunch room. If you bring food containing nuts/nut products for lunch, please do not sit at this table. Thank you in advance for your cooperation.

Children will be permitted to play outside but ONLY with parental supervision. Please be prompt in picking up your children from their camps so that the helpers can eat lunch. Please keep your children with you during the lunch hour; they must be supervised at all times.

Practicum Snack Bar

A snack bar with light refreshments will be available throughout the day. Pizza will be ordered daily for lunch. If you wish to order pizza for lunch, please do when signing in each morning. Pizza orders and the snack bar are both cash only.

Other Quick Lunch Options Nearby

Wendy's, Subway, Kurver Kreme, Dave's Gormet & Exotic Burgers, Whole Foods Market, Taco Bell, Panera Bread, Hong Kong Bakery & Bistro, and many other popular restaurants.

Our Facility

We are grateful for the use of this church facility and purpose to respect the building at all times; knowing that our conduct is an example to others. As a Christian organization we want to exemplify Christ in our actions – keeping the building clean, not running in the hallways and being polite and courteous to others. Parents, it is imperative that you watch your children at all times. You also may want to tag important possessions (backpacks, notebooks, sweaters, etc.) with your child’s first and last name so that we can reunite lost items with their proper owner.

We are very grateful to Our Savior's Lutheran Church for partnering with us in the use of their facility! In order to bless them, we will be taking a love offering on Friday and Saturday.
