Science update
Week commencing 22nd September 2014
Let's get this show on the road!
With parents day upon us Emma has sorted out all of the practical elements to the open evening extravaganza and as per the previous open day, we will be doing the cabbage indicator / acid and alkali experiment. I have heard from numerous sources that we put on a damn fine display for open events and so I am looking forward to taking part. Thanks in advance for everyone's hard work! Alongside this we have an amazing inset to look forward to on outstanding teaching and learning. During the day we'll be asked to think about what makes an outstanding science lesson at Hayesfield and I would really appreciate it if you could have a think about this before attending. Once again, great work this week - looking forward to a fantastic finale to the September part of this term!
Event Information
Snapshot - year 11!
We will be asked to enter our predicted grades for year eleven, based on the last few weeks, on Wednesday. You will need to enter these on the marksheet and I would ask you to refer to Phil's email for more details. I will be able to give you a more substantial briefing before this process begins on Wednesday but it would be worth having a look back through year eleven book marking etc ready to get this done.

Event Information
Ignite Day
The first Ignite day is upon us and we're off to Brizzle Zoo! The key for this day is for it to link in with the 'Who am I" project, it would be brilliant if we could make it really cross-curricular so I will be catching up with you over the next few days to discuss ideas so that we can get the information out to parents at the end of this week.

Meeting update:
Items discussed this week were:
- The exam structure for the year groups.
- Marking - please ensure that you are using the marking stickers formatively, using them to mark a section of the book based on several lessons as opposed to just one piece.
- KS3 schemes of learning being bought in ready for year seven to start after the October half term, please see me for details if you can't access the link from last week.
- ALFIE - will be up and running this week, (very exciting)! I will be briefing everyone and sending around training videos Monday / Tuesday.
