Schoolwide Information

September 2nd--No School (Labor Day)

September 3rd--JCMS Wildcat Parent Discovery Day from 5:30 - 7:30 PM This is a time to learn more information about your child's school, team, and classes with rotating sessions.

Language Arts

In Language Arts we read Roald Dahl's "The Landlady." We discussed the shift in mood and tone as well as how the author builds suspense. They had an open note/open book quiz on Friday and have a brochure due on Tuesday. Your students have a list explaining what is required for the project, but they can also access it on Schoology. I've been impressed with the ideas and insights discussed in class.

U.S. History

This week in U.S. History we dove into the American Revolution and our fight to free ourelves from Britain.

We started our first 80% this week! Students will be answering the question, "Would you have quit the Continental Army during their time at Valley Forge?" Students have done a wonderful job diving into the material so far and I am excited to see what they create!

We will have our second 80% assignment, the American Revolution vocabulary quiz next week.

We took our first quiz last week over integer operations, order of operations, and evaluating expressions. We are now shifting our focus to Distributive Property and Combining Like Terms.

The weekly homework will be assigned on Tuesday and due on Friday.

This week we reviewed and tested on the unit "What are the properties of waves?". By the end of the week, they will present what they have learned as a group.

Next week, we will begin the new chapter on Electromagnetic Waves.

There are assignments on schoology and, as always, I am an email away! nicholenay@usd475.org
