HPL Happenings
March - April 2017
Summer is coming…
All of us are excited about our new Summer Reading software. The program will allow our readers to create and keep up with their logs online. For those readers who do not have online access, we will have computers in the children’s library for use and we will offer a paper alternative. We hope this will reduce staff time for reporting and allow us to spend more time with the kids!
Over 11K kids at our programs since july 1st!
This summer, we are discontinuing The ABC Club due to low attendance. We are adding another Lapsit program due to popular demand. We have circulated over 93K children’s books year to date.
Teens @ HPL
Many teens volunteer here at the library, and they bring their helpful spirit to our teen programs. In April, they painted decorations for “Build a Better World” – this year’s summer reading program – during their monthly craft event.

Compliments and concerns
The American Red Cross was happy to have our help in their 17 APRIL 2017 Blood Drive: they exceeded their goals again. We’ve received several compliments on our customer service, and several concerns over parking. Due to steadily increasing library use, and increased park use, we anticipate more parking issues in the future. We welcome any suggestions to alleviate parking issues.
