HGHS Weekly Update - Week 31
Week of 4/13/2020
Weekly Update
- This week is the last week of Term 3. Please review Posting in HGHS Virtual learning team on 4/7/2020 at 2:40 PM - Titled Grading information for staff. I posted information regarding grades after our A team last week. If you have any questions, contact me.
- I will be posting another video for students later early this week. If there is anything you would like me to add let me know.
- I will be attending two CESA 7 meetings (Learning Leaders and Area Principals) early this week. I will post any updates as I find out more information.
- At this time, we have no new information on the return date for school, so please continue to plan for virtual learning as we end Term 3 and begin Term 4. The State, Federal and local governments have not rescinded the order or extended it at this time. Chris Peterson sent a new UPDATE on Thursday 4/9 via email. Please read the update as we have chosen potential back up dates for graduation if the June date is unavailable due to an order from the State, Local or Federal Governments.
- Please review your Final Budgets and make sure they are completed. Dawn Laboy will be review the 20-21 budget information that was input by staff. If you needed used textbooks to supplement teaching all of your sections at the same time, please make sure they are accounted for in the 20-21 budget. If something needs to be added, please email Dawn Laboy and me ASAP.
- Stay connected - I am hoping each department finds the time to Zoom meet this week. No Agenda, just a time to collaborate with your colleagues. Feel free to invite me to the meeting, I wouldn't mind the opportunity to meet with you and answer any questions.
- Please log in daily to HGHS Virtual Learning Teams APP

REMINDERS
Update on Communication to Parents, Families and Students.
Please make contact every day with your students through (google classroom, email etc…). That doesn’t mean a new assignment everyday. It could be follow-up to emails and posts from students. It could be encouragement and comments on current assignment etc…, but I want to keep interactions up with students to help them stay connected and engaged. Please respond to student inquiries, posts and emails within 24 hours.
Review - Grading information for Staff in HGHS Virtual Learning Teams. Term 3 is ending this week. Reminder no students should receive an Incomplete (F) - unless there is communication with a parent. If you have sent emails and called an have had no replies from the parent, please contact me and I will reach out.
Reminder to review - Get Ready for Remote Learning - this is a guideline only but may give you some ideas and direction.
Make sure students are engaged in your classes. This is your attendance. If a student has not engaged in your activities and is not responsive to your emails and correspondence, then please reach out to a parent via email and/or phone. If an email does not work, please call the parent and recruit their help to get the student engaged.
If after parental contact the student is still not engaging in the content, please bring that to my attention.
