Placing a Hold in the Catalog
How to request items in Bibliomation's online catalog
Bibliomation is a consortium of 59 public libraries in Connecticut. If your library does not have a copy of a particular book, DVD, or audiobook available, you may be able to request the book from another Bibliomation library and it will be delivered to your library! Here’s how:
Start by going to your home library’s online catalog. You can usually find a link on their home page, or you can look it up here: http://biblio.org/about/public-libraries/. Then, click on the “My Account" button in the top right corner to log into your account.
Enter your library card number or username if you have set one up. Then, enter your pin or password. The first time you log in, your pin will be the last 4 digits of your phone number. Click “Log In.” If you are unable to log in, contact your local library.
Type in your search terms. You can enter the title, author, subject, or a combination into the search box. Then, click “Search.”
If your home library doesn’t own the item, you can search all Bibliomation libraries by clicking the drop down box labeled library, picking “Bibliomation” from the very top of the list.
Then, click “Request Item.”
Verify your pick up library and select how you would like to be notified when the hold arrives at your library. You should choose at least one option. Then click “Submit.”
