Principal Message

Hello Cooper Family and Friends,

Happy Holidays! This is such an exciting time for children with so many fun-filled school and community events taking place. Typically this month would be filled with holiday concerts and family events however, this is a year of change and being flexible due to the circumstances. So, we'll take videos and lots of school pictures to share with you over the course of this month!

Our 1st semester is coming to a close on December 18th! It is amazing we are almost half-way through our school year. Students are working hard to attain the academic goals they set for 2nd quarter. I would like to encourage you to have a daily conversation with your child about his/her goals. This is a time you can encourage excellence and determination.

I want to give a special “thank you” to our families and P.T.O for the wonderful things they do for our staff and students! Thank you for organizing and preparing a wonderful meal for the staff during Parent-Teacher conferences and organizing the kringle fundraiser. This was a huge hit and raised over $3000 for our students!

Sharing and caring is what this season is all about! Enjoy time with your family and safely with your friends. I wish you all Happy Holidays and I look forward seeing you on January 4, 2021!

Mrs. Jackey Syens

Report Cards & End of 2nd Quarter

It is unbelievable that we will have completed half of the school year on December 18th! I am just so proud of our students for their diligence as learners and flexibility in learning during the first months of school. Not only did our students need to learn new school procedures for safety protocol with COVID-19, but also navigate a new grade-level curriculum amidst intermittent virtual learning!

Reports cards will be finalized on January 6th and sent home with students on January 8th. Grades will be available to be seen in Skyward on this date too. If you have any questions or need help accessing the electronic report card, please call or email your child's teacher or the school office.

We look forward to returning to school and starting our 3rd quarter of school on Monday, January 4th!

Happy Holidays~

The district offers either a morning 1/2 day program or an afternoon 1/2 day program. Materials are being finalized and will be ready to accept registration as of January 4, 2021.

Does Your Child Have Questions?

Your child might have questions about physical distancing, mask-wearing, and even self-isolation. This can be very confusing for our children and even difficult for a parent to explain.

The following resource may help with some of these conversations:

Key points

  • Children will probably have many and mixed feelings about coronavirus (COVID-19), physical distancing and self-isolation.
  • Talking with children about this situation can help them cope.
  • Children need accurate, age-appropriate information, plus opportunities to ask questions and talk about feelings.
  • Physical distancing means staying at home as much as possible. It protects your family and community.
Children’s Feelings

Coronavirus (COVID-19), physical distancing and self-isolation: children’s feelings Children might not fully understand physical distancing and self-isolation, but they’ll probably have many and mixed feelings about the experience.

Free Breakfast & Lunch For The Remainder of 2020-2021 School Year

The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) recently announced their free meal programs will continue until June 30, 2021.

We encourage all students to take breakfast each morning as this can be used for their morning or afternoon snack. In addition, ALL students can receive FREE lunch!

Aramark is the district's food service provider. Students can choose from four delicious entrees each and every day in addition to many choices of fresh fruits and vegetables.

What a great opportunity for your child to try new and different foods and you not having the hassle of making lunch!
