IMPORTANT Message from Dr. Prusiecki, Superintendent of MSD Decatur Township
This will replace Wednesday, January 30th, the day we closed school due to the extreme cold.
Therefore, we will NOT have school on Presidents’ Day, Monday, February 18th.
Students will have the opportunity to complete their assigned eLearning work when they leave for the weekend on Friday, February 15 into the next week. Information regarding the eLearning Day is located on our website @ http://track.spe.schoolmessenger.com/f/a/cx1Is_gKNsXkbZi_EKiIOA~~/AAAAAQA~/RgRePJwfP0QvaHR0cDovL3d3dy5kZWNhdHVycHJvdWQub3JnL2FjYWRlbWljcy9lbGVhcm5pbmdXB3NjaG9vbG1CCgAAn2hbXCAt3ahSGWNnZWFybGRzQGRlY2F0dXJwcm91ZC5vcmdYBAAAAAE~ and provides the guidelines for work completion and attendance.
We hope that this transition to eLearning from make up snow days will provide the stability our community deserves.
Again, there will be no school on Monday, February 18th due to our district’s first eLearning day.
Together, we are Decatur Proud!
Thank you,
Dr. Prusiecki, Superintendent of Decatur Township Schools
Mr. Gearlds Corner
Monday, February 18, 2019 we will NOT have school, however, this will be our first e-learning day with MSD Decatur Township. The staff at the Blue Academy have uploaded activities within Canvas in the areas of Reading, Math, and Science for Grades 3-6. It's very important that your child goes into their class Canvas account to complete the activities, as well as, check the box that says they are "here" for attendance purposes. Scholars in Grades 1 and 2 will have a packet of information to complete that will be located within their Daily Folder. Please note, that all e-learning activities will go "live" on Friday beginning at 3:00 PM. To prepare the scholars for their first e-Learning day we will have a practice session during the afternoon on Thursday, February 14, 2019.
If you have questions about your child's assignments please contact your child's teacher via Canvas Messaging and/or Email.
Parents and Scholars,
You will find the following information below:
- Direct Link to Canvas below from the Blue Academy Website
- Student Directions for e-Learning
- Canvas Messaging
Moving forward, our teams are prepared to have assignments sent out to scholars in the event of future School Cancellations. In the event of a School Closure all scholars in Grades 3-6 will be expected to go into Canvas to complete their daily assignments.
Thank you all for your continued support as we make this transition into e-Learning. Please feel free to reach out to me if you have questions.
Yours in education,
Mr. Gearlds
