Updates from Manassas Park Middle School - 8/24/2018

We are SO EXCITED to have students back on MONDAY!

The summer is a great chance for us to clean/improve/reset the school building, but without students, the building just doesn't feel right. This week we had out 6th Grade orientation and Open House and it felt so good seeing the faces of students and parents back in the Middle School!

Did you miss all 4 laptop deployments? Here's what to do!

Go to and pay the technology fee. If you do not have a credit card, come in to the main office and pay Ms. Wence with cash or a personal check.

Complete infosnap online. If you know your PowerSchool Parent username and password, this can be done at home, otherwise this requires a visit to the school during school hours.

Once both are completed, the help desk staff will be able to deliver a laptop some time during the second or third week of school.

MPMS Athletics Update!

Please read if your child is planning on trying out for a fall sport at MPMS:

  • Tryouts start on 8/28-- the second day of school.
  • We will have girls volleyball, cheerleading, girls track, boys soccer, and football at MPMS this fall.

In order to try out for any sport...

  • Students MUST turn in a physical form completed by both parent and physician.
  • Both athlete AND parent MUST attend a concussion training. If you missed concussion training this past week, email Ms. Webb right away! (

Please check the middle school athletics website for links to schedules, important dates, and the VHSL physical form for download.

We're looking forward to a busy fall season!!

Reminder - ALL 6th Graders need a Tdap shot!

The State of Virginia requires all rising 6th grade students to present proof that they have had one booster of the Tdap vaccine. This is the vaccine for tetanus, diphtheria, and pertussis (Tdap).

Any questions, please ask your physician or email our school nurse, Ms. Vonvital at

PE Uniform Details!

Make sure that you take care of your PE Uniform! If you don't already have one (you can wear last year's uniform, or the uniform of an older sibling) you can purchase a PE uniform by talking to your PE teacher.

All students must wear an official uniform shirt and either the official shorts or pants during class.

Having a PE uniform is imperative for safe participation on physical education.

When choosing a size, please take in to consideration your child is growing and plan ahead, they can wear their uniforms more than one year! Label uniforms with your students first and last names across the back of the shirt and on the shorts.

Reduced meal prices are $0.30 for breakfast and $0.40 for lunch for the 2018-19 school year.

The application is open and available for ALL families to see if they qualify, but if the paperwork is not completed in the first 30 days of school, all meals charged to start the school year will be billed as full price. Submit your application today!
