GREETINGS McNEAR FAMILIES
It's incredible that we're already on the verge of the winter break! I hope you all have fun plans to celebrate the holiday with friends and family. It's been a fun final week at school with the band and chorus concert, as well as the Winter Fun Run. Thanks to Cailin Nelson for organizing that!
After our focus on volunteering the last couple of weeks, we've had a number of parents who have jumped in, and the Wish Benefit committee is coming together nicely. PTA Board Exec VP Dave Felix has very kindly agreed to take on the administration of getting committees on track and organizing meetings. We still have a need for more people to join the auction committees, the food and beverage committee and someone to oversee sponsorship. Please consider joining this awesome team of parents to get the benefit across the finish line. Sign-up here: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/9040f49a9a622a3fc1-wish
I wanted to send my heartfelt thanks to everyone who has pitched in so far this school year on PTA activities. There's so many that I know I'd miss someone, but I wanted to highlight Dorothy Fox and Megan Atiyeh for the Back to School BBQ, Donnie Frank and her directing team for Performing Arts, Lily Kreimer for After-School Enrichment and Elders Day, Kristin Richman for Harvest Festival (which ended up raising a lot of money despite not happening!) and the whole TIDE team for getting their committee off the ground.
Have a great break,
Neil

MORNING DROP OFF ROUTINES
Thank you for helping smooth transitions in the morning and ensuring student safety. It is wonderful to see so many families walking and rolling to school. If you use the drop off zone on Sunnyslope Avenue, please remember to pull forward before allowing your child to exit your vehicle. Our goal with the long drop off lane is to prevent a back-up of cars on Sunnyslope.
If you walk to school, it is always a good idea to make sure cars see you before crossing a street, even in a crosswalk. The front lot is closed to parking until after school starts.
The “G” St. parking lot is for staff parking, and is not to be used for student pick drop off or pick up. “G” St. is a great entrance for TK and Kinder families coming in to read in the mornings. Parking is available on the street. If you walk to campus via the “G” Street entrance, please make sure you use the sidewalk and do not walk through the parking lot. Thank you!
