Principal's Message
Thank you to all PUE families for your support of the Book Fair! Mrs. Fry and I would like to send a special shout out to the PTA for organizing in-person volunteers. We also extend sincere thanks to Shawn Axe for outstanding leadership in organizing and supporting this event!
Please see the message below from Ms. DePasquale (Freer) about our chorus:
On March 2nd, the PUE 4th and 5th grade Chorus had the thrill of being part of this year’s Pieces of Gold event, held at Raleigh’s Memorial Auditorium. This annual event spotlights Visual and Performing Arts in the Wake County Public Schools. You must audition to get in, so it is an honor to have been chosen to take part! We sang and danced to a song called “Amazing” written by the artist Pinkzebra. Our chorus did a wonderful job and had a fabulous time to boot! They have worked so hard and I am so proud of them!
Here are some photos from this Amazing night!
Outdoor Lunch Volunteers Needed
Please reach out to your child's teacher or class room parent if you'd like to assist with outdoor lunch. We will start this back on March 21. See the lunch rotation schedule below for additional information!

Did you know that March is National Nutrition Month?
From the PTA Wellness Team: Where does healthy nutrition start, well it starts where we buy our food either from the farmers market or from the store, there are great options at both. Here are some tips for shopping for healthy foods:
1. Make a list and plan for healthy meals ahead of time
2. Don’t shop when you are hungry or in a hurry
3. Purchase fresh or frozen vegetables
4. Shop the perimeter of the store first
5. Avoid foods that contain more than 5 ingredients or ingredients you can’t pronounce
6. Purchase healthy dry and canned ingredients for later use
7. Shop for low-fat or non-fat dairy options
8. Buy lean meats without skin
9. Choose items from the grain group that are whole grains
10. Limit the number of processed foods you purchase
11. Try plant-based proteins
