Principal's Message
Dear Falcon Families,
We celebrate two important weeks at Riverview during the month of October, and they so naturally tie into Covey's Habit #2, Begin With the End In Mind. The month of October marks the nationwide recognition campaigns for Bully Prevention and Red Ribbon Week. Our goal is to empower Riverview Falcons with the knowledge they need to stop bullying in our community and teach skills for living healthy, drug-free lives. We will be celebrating Peace week from Sept. 30-Oct. 4, 2019 and Red Ribbon week from Oct.28-31, 2019. Our theme this year is, “I Believe in Me: Happy, Healthy Drug-free.” Students will be learning all about how to develop their own personal mission statement and to act with integrity during difficult moments. It fits in perfectly with Peace & Kindness Week. How do you want others to perceive you? How does each choice help you stay healthy?
Our PTA is also practicing Habit #2 and healthy living by sponsoring and promoting the school's Fun Run! This important fundraiser sets the entire year up for success for our classrooms, and student and community programming. Families and students will benefit from this fundraiser so if every student raises at least $50.00, we will reach our goal. 100% of contributions will directly benefit the students and staff of Riverview. Donations are accepted online at https://www.refalconspta.org/shop. All donations are tax deductible. Cash & check donations may be placed in the envelope Labeled Falcon Fun Run in your classroom along with a completed donation slip. Checks should be made payable to Riverview PTA. Thank you so much for your donations!!
Sincerely,
Beth Mildren

Veteran's Day Assembly-Monday November 11th at 9:15 am
To honor those who have served/are serving in the armed forces, our school is busily planning the annual assembly for veterans. Our Veteran’s Day Assembly will recognize our vets on Monday, November 11th at 9:15 am. We will, again, have a PowerPoint to honor the vets closest to us at Riverview. Students are encouraged to send in pictures (digital or paper) of a relative or close friend of the family to be included. Your vet does not have to attend to be included. Paper pictures will be returned after they are scanned.
If pictures were sent in during a previous year, and you had a child that attended Riverview last year, your vet will still be in the PowerPoint. There is no need to send them in again. If you have any updates such as dates of service etc.......you are welcome to send those. Please fill out the submission form and send it along with your labeled picture by Tuesday, October 15th.
Any digital picture please send to tseyb@usd232.org with the information typed out in the body of the email.
If you are planning on bringing a vet, please send an email RSVP to Mrs. O’Donnell at LODonnell@usd232.org .......... We look forward to your submissions! Thank you!
