Edgar Allan Poe

Who was Allan Poe?
Edgar A. Poe was an American writer, editor, and literacy critic, he was most famous for his short tales, poem of horror, and mystery (http://www.poemuseum.org/life.php). Allan was born on Jan 19,1809 in Boston Massachusetts.
Allan's Life and Childhood
Allan was the second born out of three, his brother William Henry Leonard Poe would've become a poet but he died at an early age, his dad left them and his mom died from tuberculosis. He was adopted by two famous actors when he was three, his foster father was an alcoholic and died from alcohol poison and his foster mother died from tuberculosis (http://www.poemuseum.org/life.php).
Dark Times in Allan's Life
Allan's family was poor and was in a lot of dept. when is parents died Allan was already going through poverty. He tried gambling his way out of dept. but he just went deeper into poverty. Allan's writing career was going nowhere; people thought his stories were too scary and he wasn't getting pay, making him poor. Allan married his 13 year old cousin who later died from tuberculosis, (it seems like everyone in Allan's life that he had ever love always ends up dying from the same disease) Allan was alone, stress, and depressed (http://www.poemuseum.org/life.php).
Extra
The death of Allan Poe was a mystery; like his stories- no one knows who really murdered him- they don't even know if he was murdered. Some people (including me) thinks that Allan's inspiration to writing short stories was his life and depression. I think Allan impacted the world because of his stories; it was different and it had you at the edge of you seat wanting more and wondering what'll happen next.
