Weekly AESD Update

Welcome To The 2022-2023 School Year!

We have had an amazing first week of the new school year and are excited for all the learning that this year will bring. Thank you for choosing AESD!

We look forward to continuing to grow and partner with you as we grow every child as a thinker, problem solver and communicator to pursue a future without limits.

United As One: United For Safety

Agua Fria High School District, Avondale Elementary School District and Litchfield Elementary School District have started a West Valley Safety Coalition which will help educate staff, students and community members on protocols, practices, drills and information to stay safe during a crisis situation.

The three districts have invited their cities’ fire and police departments, superintendents, administrators, educators, safety training professionals and other neighboring school districts to meet and discuss protocols.

AESD Scoop Season3

Listen to the first episode of season 3 of our AESD Scoop podcast where we talk with our cities' police and fire departments and our two neighboring districts on how we are coming together for the safety of our students.

Tune in here and catch a new episode every Wednesday.

Thank you Salvation Army

The Salvation Army stopped by this week and gifed our teachers with care packages to start off the year. We thank all our community partners who have come alongside us in this back-to-school season. We appreciate all the support you show our district!

Our Community Loves Our Schools

AZ Community Impact held a care fair this past weekend at Michael Anderson School. The event invited our community to participate and offered health resources to our families. Thank you for your services!

Fire Mentors At Your Service

Our Avondale Fire and Medical mentors arrived to Avondale Middle School on the first day of school to greet all of our students as they walked onto campus. Fire mentors waved, greeted and shared words of encouragement to our students at the front of the school.

We greatly appreciate the continuous support and guidance they offer our students.

Spots Open In Our Preschool Program

Our preschool program was voted as the top 3 preschool in the west valley. We are currently accepting new students for full and half day options. For questions, call or email Cathy Ortega at or 623-772-5004.
