Persuasive, Opinion, and Argumentative Writing
Persuasive writing is a form of nonfiction writing that encourages careful word choice, the organization of supporting arguments, and a convincing summary. Persuasive writing helps writers formulate specific reasons for opinions, and provides an opportunity to research facts related to those opinions.
As you develop an understanding of how writing can influence or change another person's thoughts or actions, you can also begin to understand the persuasive nature of the marketing they are exposed to through television, the Internet, and other media.
