Did you know
… that Prior Lake-Savage Area Schools is a popular and growing school district?
· Since 2000, we have averaged more than 225 additional students per year.
· Most of our schools are already at or over capacity, and more families keep moving in.
· Projections indicate our growth will continue, with more than 2,100 additional K-12 students anticipated in our schools in the next ten years.
Did you know
…there are two school funding requests on the November 7 ballot that would impact ALL Prior Lake-Savage Area Schools and students?
· Q1: bond funds to address enrollment, safety and academic needs by building a new elementary school, additions to almost all schools and addressing traffic and high school entrance safety concerns
· Q2: an operating levy increase to hire staff for the growing enrollment, maintain class sizes and operate the additional school spaces
At Bridges, approval of both requests would also mean funding to maintain class sizes and current educational programs. Additionally, a new ALC would be built!

End of The Quarter
Bridges ALC end of the quarter is conducted differently than PLHS end of the quarter.
- Monday & Tuesday, November 6th & 7th - final class days
- Wednesday & Thursday, November 8th & 9th - Q1 ending JUMP DAYS
- Thursday, November 9th - final day of Q1 & early release
- Friday, November 10th - No classes - Staff Work Day
- Monday, November 13th - First Day of Q2 Classes
What is a JUMP DAY?
Students are told a day or two prior if they are expected to attend the JUMP DAY for needed interventions/support or the enrichments. Parents/guardians are notified via email which kind of JUMP DAY their student has earned.
Q1 End JUMP DAY registration
Q1 End JUMP Day Enrichment - Career Assessment and Post-Secondary Planning
Students who earned enrichment for the the Nov. 7-8 Jump Day at Bridges will be required to complete an online project. This quarter, we will be focusing on career assessment and post-secondary planning. Students will complete an interest inventory and find career options that match their interests. They will also explore what type of education/training would be required in their given career area.

Did you know
… If voters do not approve Q1, the impact would be felt districtwide?
· Class size increases, K-12
· Elementary school boundary changes, beginning 2018-19*
· School bus transportation changes, K-12, beginning 2018-19
· Review potential school start time changes
(Note: Some boundary adjustments will be needed even if Q1 is approved to even out enrollment across schools.)
And if Q1 is approved but Q2 is not:
· The school district would not have the funds needed to operate, staff, equip and run the new schools and spaces that would be built with Q1 funds.
· The district would need to hold another election in November 2018 to renew the expiring operating levy or lose $6.5 million per year for educating our students.
