Flu Shot Clinic - Sept 25
The Anacortes School District is partnering with the Seattle Visiting Nurse Association (SVNA) to provide a Flu Shot Clinic this fall.
Flu shots will be available at Anacortes Middle School (2202 M Avenue) Commons on Wednesday, September 25, 2019 from 3-7 p.m.
According to the CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention), the single best way to protect you and your family from influenza is to receive a “flu shot” each year. The CDC recommends that EVERYONE, over six months of age, should be vaccinated against the flu.
The clinic will be open to all Anacortes School District children (four years of age and older), their families and community members.
All participants will be asked to provide their health insurance information (card) to receive an immunization. SVNA will electronically bill the insurance plan for your flu shot. They bill almost all insurance plans, but are not able to accept Cigna or Provider One. Flu shots are considered preventive care and normally are not subject to deductibles or co-pays. Students 18 years and under without current health insurance coverage will be offered a flu shot at no cost.
Adults without current insurance coverage may pay the $40.00 immunization fee for standard Quadrivalent with cash or check.
Patient Consent Forms are available here. Please complete one for each person and bring the form(s) with you to the event. Forms will also be available at the clinic.
Questions? Contact District Nurse Emily Wade – ewade@asd103.org or 360-503-1552.

Now accepting volunteer applications
Volunteers are essential partners in the success of our schools, and we truly appreciate their gifts of time and talent that fuel so many wonderful opportunities for our students. Individuals from throughout our community serve in variety of volunteer positions, from tutors and mentors to classroom assistants, special project committees, and so much more!
All volunteers must have a yearly application and background check on file with the district office prior to service in our schools.
Clearance is on a one-year basis, and all volunteers must re-apply each school year. The beginning of the school year is an excellent time to complete the process, so that you can be ready to volunteer in the schools or chaperone a field trip.
The application link can be found here
The online application may be accessed from your home computer at any time. You also are welcome to contact the ASD District Office for assistance with the process, including help for anyone without a home computer to complete the application.
For more information, please contact the ASD District Office at (360) 503-1200, or email to anacortesvolunteer@asd103.org.
