Human Body
A Bag of Bones!
Joints
Do you know that joints are the places where bones connect inside your body? There are three types of joints:
- Ball and Socket
- Hinge
- Gliding
Ball and Socket Joint
Your shoulders and hips are examples of this kind of joint. They can move in all directions!
Hinge Joint
Your elbows are an example of a hinge joint. Like the hinge that helps a door open and closer, hinge joints can only move back and forth in one direction.
Gliding Joint
Your wrists and ankles are examples of gliding joints in your body. They can move front and back, and also back and forth. Gliding joints can move in two different directions, but not ALL directions like a ball and socket joint can.
