Thanks to our Student Council members for providing this information and opportunity for our students.
Please note, our first Extravaganza (dance plus a few extras) will be on Thursday, October 26th. Tickets will be sold next week and are $3. Students must have a ticket and their student ID to enter the Extravaganza. A huge thanks to Ms. Juronoc and Ms. Lenz for organizing this event for our students.

Shuffle was a success!
Well, the weather didn't hold us back. We were able to get all the classes outside for this year's Shuffle. The kids had a great time, getting some exercise and raising money for our school. The Booster Club would like to say, "THANK YOU!" First to our volunteers, because without you, this event couldn't happen. Second, to the families that were able to make a donation this year. Third, to all of our wonderful sponsors, more on that in a moment. And last, but not least, to Willow Woods Elementary School for lending supplies to us for our event. We have a great community in Warren Consolidated Schools!
New this year, was the opportunity to receive a t-shirt for any student that brought in $25 or more. We were blessed to have these shirts sponsored by several local businesses. Please consider these businesses for your future needs. Be sure to let them know you are from Carleton Middle school if you pay them a visit. The businesses are:
•A&G Music
•Extra Credit Union
•Five Star Lanes
•Gadget Drop
•Jerry Luck School of Music

As we approach Halloween and my 6 year old asks everyday if today is the day she gets to dress up (she is going to be Batgirl), another day is fast approaching...the end of the first marking period. Come October 27th, we will have a half day records day and our teachers will be finalizing their gradebooks and getting ready to start the second quarter. This is a great time to talk to your children and our students about making a new first impression and goal setting. Consider taking some time over the next two weeks to discuss what your son or daughter wants to achieve in the 2nd quarter. It might be staying the course, maybe they have done a great job and have stellar grades, but they should determine what it will take to keep those grades as the work gets more challenging. Maybe it's improving that pesky C+ in the class they just can't seem to do well on tests for. Could they try a new way of studying? Maybe its completing every assignment on time and seeing how that impacts their grades. Whatever the goal, middle school is a time to #practicesuccess and develop the habits that will carry them through high school and beyond.
