WBMS Friday Notes
May 7-11
Reflections from Ms. Perkins
WBMS Parents and Guardians –
Thank you to all the parents who came out this week to support our wonderful performing arts programs. Watching and listening to our orchestra, chorus, and band students’ growth and talent was truly inspiring. The difference in sound and confidence from the beginning of the year was apparent and speaks volumes about how we all can stretch ourselves. In addition, thank you to our sixth grade parents for visiting our Geobot event this week. This cross-curricular project showcased not only what our students have learned this year but also how they have been able to creatively connect all aspects of their education. Listening to our students explain their inventions and how they would make our world better gave me great hope for the positive changes they soon will make in our world.
This week has been extremely busy and this weekend will continue the trend. Thank you to all the eighth grade parents who have been and are still transforming our cafeteria into a wonderland for the eighth grade dance. I look forward to seeing our students all dressed up and enjoying themselves this evening. I hope you all will stop by on Saturday from 4 – 11 PM for our Relay for Life Event. This is the third year WBMS will host the county event, and I’d love for us to be well represented even if our community members can only drop by to walk once around our track. All our lives have been touched by cancer in some way, and Saturday we will celebrate and remember lives of lost loved ones as well as those who have won the fight or are still fighting the battle.
Happy Mother’s Day to all our WBMS moms! Enjoy the weekend with your families!
In collaboration,
Rebecca Williams Perkins
Principal, Webb Bridge Middle School
