The Power of Math Running Records
3-Part Virtual Book Study Series
October 6th, October 20th, and November 3rd, 2021 from 3:30 pm to 4:45 pm
How do you assess and increase student achievement in math fact fluency? The answer is Math Running Records. In this virtual book study series, you will learn how running records can help zero in on where students are in their understanding of basic math facts and then outline the next steps towards comprehensive fluency. The goal is to help students become more confident, proficient, fluent and efficient in their computation as well as develop a solid foundation of number sense.
*First 10 participants will receive a copy of Math Running Records in Action by Dr. Nicki Newton.
Learning Outcomes will be:
- Understanding the five elements of mathematical proficiency.
- Building a toolbox of resources to assess basic math fluency.
- Developing instructional strategies for helping students build fact fluency.
- Collaborating with others to develop a plan for assessing and supporting math fact fluency.
This workshop is offered exclusively to those districts participating in Universal School Improvement Services (Discount will be automatically applied.) including: Abbotsford, Augusta, Bloomer, Bruce, Chippewa Falls, Colby, Eleva-Strum, Flambeau, Gilman, Gilmanton, Granton, Greenwood, Ladysmith, Lake Holcombe, Loyal, Mondovi, Neillsville, New Auburn, Osseo-Fairchild, Owen-Withee, Spencer, and Thorp.
