Longhorn Spotlight

This year, Gordon students from 4th - 7th grades will attend the 2nd Annual STEAM Carnival at the Region 11 Center in Fort Worth, TX on Tuesday, October 24th. Our students had the opportunity to submit a proposal for a Student-led Showcase to be included in the carnival. We just received news that the proposal submitted by Logan Lantrip, Tori Kelleher, and Phoenix George was accepted and they have been invited to be a part of the STEAM Carnival this year. They will represent Gordon in the STEAM Carnival on Wednesday, October 25th. Their table will include two projects. Logan and Tori will host an activity where students from other districts can come and create stop-motion animation where they will have a choice of scene backgrounds, props, and characters to move and manipulate. Once their videos are created, they can view them on a You-tube channel that will be created just for this event. The second showcase will include a video game that was created by Phoenix George. He has created this video game from scratch. While other students are playing his video game, they will have the opportunity to continue the creation by learning how to add on rooms to the game for the characters to explore. Congratulations to our Gordon students for your acceptance into the STEAM Carnival. You are part of what makes us proud to be a Gordon Longhorn!

September Student of the Month

The Gordon PTO is proud to sponsor our Student of the Month program. Students are nominated each month for their outstanding accomplishments in the classroom, extracurricular activities, and demonstrating a positive attitude.
