Weekly Report
Hi all! We are making it all happen! Wow! I feel like school is running like a fine operating machine! Names on the board are not happening too frequently. Please know that I am extremely patient.
I am having the kids take a picture of the board at night on their iPad in case I forget to send a a Remind message or I am absent.
Please make a point of looking at the remind message each night or your child's iPad and discussing the assignments they need to complete. This is an important part of third grade. Late assignments get a point taken off. Stay up to date and have these conversations please.
Reading--- Our story is called The Upside Down Boy. It is nonfiction. We will talk about figurative language, text and graphic features, and elements of poetry. We will have a quiz on Friday. as usual.
Math--We will start Topic 2. The Topic 1 test is on their iPads. They can show you their tests. Please go over any missed problems. This is an important part of the learning process. Topic 2 is called Multiplication Facts: Use Patterns.
Spelling--The words focus on long i spelled i, ie, igh, and y. There will be a test on Friday.
Social Studies--We are reading our second addition of Scholastic News. We will be working in it for the next two weeks. In Science, we are working on river patterns. We did a fun experiment with water patterns. There will be a quiz over it on Tuesday. I posted a link on Google Classroom to watch over the lesson to help study for the quiz.
English-- We will continue work on our personal narratives. We will focus on pronouns next week and have a short quiz on Friday. We have a few more lessons in this first unit and then we will have a unit test. Keeping the weekly quizzes is a great way to review.
