Jazz Band Holiday Concert - THIS TUESDAY
Be sure to come watch our Jazz Band perform at the Jazz Holiday Concert this Tuesday starting at 6:30pm in the Belton HS PAC. Holiday favorites as well as some jazz standards will be performed, including the jazz groups from South Belton MS and Belton HS. This is also a great opportunity for students from the Beginning Saxophone, Trumpet, Trombone, & Percussion classes to see about joining this group next year. Hope to see you there!
Need Parent Chaperones for Holiday Concert

First Holiday Concert Coming Up!
Our Holiday Concert will be on Thursday, December 15 starting at 6:30pm in the Belton HS Performing Arts Center (PAC). This will be the first performance where students get to perform on stage set up in the whole Beginner's Ensemble, which is all 8 of our beginner classes put together in traditional concert band arcs. In order to prepare for this combined performance, we will be having 2 after school group rehearsals next week. The first one will be on Monday, December 12 and the second the next day on Tuesday, December 13. Both rehearsals will take place in the Band Hall from 4:00-5:00pm. Students will need to have their ride pick them up by 5pm. A grade will be taken for participation in each of these rehearsals.

If you haven't already, make sure you sign up for our Remind texts for the Beginner's Ensemble here. Students may do this as well with parent permission. This is important piece of communication to receive reminders throughout the year.
Quick Spring Sectional Survey
Starting Monday, January 9, we will again resume after school sectionals to prepare for the upcoming UIL Concert & Sightreading Evaluation in March. Please take 2 minutes and fill out this survey ASAP so we can start to plan for the best schedule possible: https://forms.gle/CdkNiMteWoK33gAs7. Use this form to fill out your students availability after school Monday-Friday from 4:00-5:00pm starting the week of January 9 until March 3. We want to avoid athletic games, meets, tournaments, and matches. We have already worked out a plan with all coaches to share students when they participate in athletic practices.

Elementary Holiday Tour - THIS WEDNESDAY

Have your student bring $10 for lunch at Schlotzsky's by Monday (that's tomorrow)! Parents will need to drop off students at Miller Heights Elementary (1110 Fairway Drive in Belton) by 7:30am that day with instruments still in cases. Students will wear their casual uniform (polo shirt tucked into jeans) with some fun holiday attire, such as a Santa hat, reindeer antlers, garland, lights, etc. Students will miss all of their class that day (except for 8th period), and must be passing all of their classes to eligible to attend.

Jazz Holiday Concert - THIS TUESDAY
Click here to read all of the details for Tuesday's Jazz Holiday Concert at the Belton HS PAC. Students should remember to take their instrument and binder home after school on Tuesday. They should arrive at the Belton HS Band Hall dressed in their jazz uniform ready to warm up by 6pm. We will not be wearing any Santa hats or holiday attire for this performance, and instrument cases should stay in parent vehicles. The concert starts at 6:30pm and our set should start around 6:45pm. We will stay after our performance to watch the Belton HS Jazz Ensemble perform until about 8pm when we will help put away chairs, stands, and equipment.

TJEA Grant
I am proud to announce that the Belton MS Jazz Band has earned a $500 grant from the Texas Jazz Educators Association! Only 10 schools in the state of Texas were selected from a record number of applications for this year's grants. A picture of the group will be displayed at the Texas Music Educators Convention in San Antonio this February among the other 2023 TJEA Grant Award recipients.
Christmas/Chisholm Trail Performance Recap
THANK YOU to parents and students of the Rhythm Section & Loading Crew for your help in loading and unloading equipment for our performance last Saturday. It was well attended and our students did a great job performing!
