Bears Get Back to Business
Coming In With a Roar!
All Students were greeted by our Admin team the first week of school. At these team meetings, students heard about expectations, how to get involved, and how to "start strong" in middle school. The first few days at Mesa are used to teach routines and provide opportunities for staff to connect and bolster student achievement! Thanks to all of our parents who came out for Back to School Night and helped our students bring in the new year with a roar!
Learning Highlights
8th Grade Language and Literature
Team Flags!
Students created team flags to display during assemblies. Pictured here are three Panda students designing their team flag.
Art and Authentic Learning
Prepare for an exhilarating fusion of artistic expression and entrepreneurial flair as students in Ms. Jurim's Art Classes join forces with LollyGag Antiques and Boutique later this month. In this exciting collaboration, young artists will not only have the opportunity to craft their original masterpieces but also to showcase and sell their creations.
Take What You Need
Great Way to Brighten Your Day!
Visit the Counseling Office and see the "Take What You Need" bulletin board. Sometimes you just need words of encouragement or a positive boost for your day! Take one and put it on your notebook, your bathroom mirror, or give it to a friend that might need support!
PBIS / School Store
Bear Coins and the Bear Den
We are excited to announce that the Bear Den (The PBIS School Store) had its grand opening on Friday, September 15th. Students are able to redeem prizes for Bear Coins in the App or on the PBIS Rewards website Monday-Thursday each week from 4:00pm-9:00pm and then will need to bring their student ID with them to the School Store on Fridays during their lunch to pick up the item they redeemed during that week. Staff reward PBIS (Positive Behavioral Intervention & Supports) points (Bear Coins) when a student is seen exhibiting one of our four traits: Responsible, Open-minded, Aware, and Respectful. Go Bears!
Glacier Students Recognized

New Gym Floor
The best part of this exciting reveal? It's a gift from our wonderful partners at the Town of Castle Rock Parks and Recreation, who allocated facility rental revenue to make this transformation possible. This dazzling upgrade came at NO cost to Mesa, ensuring that every precious resource remains dedicated to our mission.
ALP Day!
Mesa Middle School recently hosted a remarkable event that brought our ALP (Advanced Learning Plan) students together for a day of connection and intellectual exploration.
At the ALP Extravaganza, our students had the chance to hang out with their fellow ALP peers and participate in a wide array of captivating activities. Chess enthusiasts squared off in intense matches, spelling bee champions showcased their linguistic prowess, and creative minds tackled kit-building challenges. Minecraft enthusiasts embarked on virtual adventures, and the challenge of Wordle kept wordplay aficionados engaged.
The event was a delightful celebration of camaraderie and intellect, allowing ALP students to bond, share their talents, and create lasting memories. Mesa Middle School's ALP Extravaganza was a day of fun, friendship, and the pursuit of excellence that our students will fondly remember.
Family and Consumer Studies Guest Speaker
Brad West graced the Family and Consumer Studies class to share his expertise, delivering an engaging discourse on the art of intelligent consumerism, wealth-building, and the nuances of managing consumer debt. The session was a dynamic exchange of ideas, encouraging active participation from our students, who found immense enjoyment in the enlightening presentation.

Staff Team-Building Event
The Panda Team recently hosted our monthly staff team-building event, and it was a touchdown of fun! To coincide with the start of the NFL season, they chose the perfect theme – a "Tailgating Extravaganza." We enjoyed games, breakfast goodies, and lots of bonding as we celebrated the football season kickoff. It was a fantastic opportunity to strengthen our team spirit and have a blast with colleagues!
