iPads for Libraries
Librarians: Have you earned additional iPads for your library yet?
You could have five (5) extra iPads available in your library to use for student learning activities! All we ask is that you complete the "iPad Basics" course in Canvas before receiving your iPads. Check out this Smore for directions on how to complete "iPad Basics".
We will provide more information regarding deployment, management, etc. as soon as you have completed the course.

DIGITAL TOOL OF THE WEEK
SafeShare.TV
YouTube’s Safety mode is far from foolproof. If the person who uploaded a nasty video hasn’t selected Enable age restriction, or other users haven’t flagged it as objectionable, YouTube’s filter probably won’t block it. Unfortunately, this is very common and children are constantly bombarded with inappropriate videos on YouTube, and that's why the SafeShare.TV project was born."
TIPS FROM THE TECHNICIANS
How to Enter a Ticket for Tech Support
IMPORTANT: When you go to ZenDesk for the first time, do NOT create an account. Click on the red "Log in with Google" button on the left side.
You can also get to ZenDesk by going to your Google Apps (Gmail or Google Drive). Click on the 3x3 grid ("waffle") in the top-right corner next to your name --> "More" --> "Even More" --> Click on the "ZenDesk" icon.
**Remember: A ticket should be entered for ANY and ALL technology-related hardware problems. Do not rely on emailing a technician or simply mentioning a problem to them in passing. A technician will address the problem as soon as possible after the ticket is received.
Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get help with my computer? How do I get another bulb for my projector? What do I do when I forget a password? How can I use Skype? These questions along with many others are answered in the Technology FAQs.
CANVAS CORNER
Canvas and Google Apps
The Google Apps LTI for Canvas has now been turned on for all account levels. What does that mean for you? Well, it means you can access your Google files from multiple areas within Canvas including the Rich Content Editing Bar. What a time saver!
Canvas has improved its integration with Google Apps making it easier for instructors to include collaborations, content sharing, engaging course content, and assignment distribution directly within Canvas. The integration also makes it easy for students to collaborate with instructors and fellow students on individual or group assignments.
