Important Senior Event Dates
- You will not need to be there for the entire time, it's about a 30-45 minute process and you can come anytime between 8:00 AM and 1:00 PM.
Graduation Rehearsal (Mandatory for Graduating Seniors): May 22, 2017 3:00 PM at Cypress Creek High School in the Performing Arts Center
- You do not need your cap and gown for this event, but you DO need to be on time and in dress code.
Graduation: May 24, 2017 9:00 AM at UCF CFE Arena
- Seniors will need to be there earlier. More information will be given at graduation rehearsal.
- Every student will receive 8 tickets each. They will be distributed at Senior Clearance. You will be able to request extra tickets during Senior Clearance. If there are any extras, they will be distributed in the way that serves students and families best.

Osceola Campus: May 4 | 6pm - 9pm
At Open House, there will be:
· Free food & drinks
· On-site application help (application fee will be waived!)
· Assistance with FAFSA
· 50th Anniversary t-shirts

2017 Summer STEM Institute-Valencia College
High school seniors who are attending Valencia College in the fall and are planning on majoring in science, technology, engineering, or math.
WHAT: An academic, non-residential summer experience in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM)
WHEN: July 24-28, 2017: 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM each day
WHERE: East, Osceola, and West Campuses of Valencia College
WHO: 2017 high school graduates enrolling at Valencia College for Fall 2017
WHY: To promote student interest in and knowledge of STEM disciplines and careers
**Space is limited to 24 students on each campus**
If students participate and complete the assignments and projects given throughout the week, the students will be eligible for a free course at Valencia!

The last OCPS Parent Academy FAFSA and College Application help session for seniors will be held this Saturday, May 6th, at University High School from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM.

Scholarships
2017 Delta Xi Lambda chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc. Scholarship
The following are the criteria for the scholarship.
- Graduating high school minority male student.
- Minimum academic unweighted GPA of 3.0 (include a sealed copy of your high school transcript).
- College bound (entering college in Fall of 2017).
- Active in school, church and/or community.
- Essay: How has your education contributed to who you are today and why is it important for you to earn a college education?
- Provides documentation that demonstrates a need for financial aid
- Students are encourage to include copy of resume, list of extracurricular activities, and list of community service hours.

Seminole State College offers a similar scholarship program!
Wayne M. Densch Scholarship Program Eligibility:
- Be a first-time-in-college student enrolling for the Fall Term
- Be a first-generation college student (neither parent has completed a four-year degree)
- Show financial need (Pell Grant eligible as determined by FAFSA)
- Have a high school GPA of 2.0 or higher (cumulative)
- Be willing to enroll in a cohort common course College Success (SLS 1101) during the first term
- Be willing to attend required workshops and enrichment activities and serve as a peer facilitator during your second year
