This week we dove deeper into the American Revolutionary War. We examined the reasons we came to blows with Great Britain and why we celebrate Independence Day.
Next week, we will explore the United States Constitution and the Bill of Rights. We will discuss whether we think this document is still relevant to our lives today.
Math
This week in math we are continuing to work with decimals. Over the past few weeks we have added, subtracted, multiplied and divided decimals. We are finishing up our work with dividing decimals this week with a quiz on Thursday. Look for corrections early next week. The kids really seem to be embracing this very long division and are doing a great job even though it takes so many steps to complete it. Please visit https://www.ixl.com/math/grade-5/add-subtract-multiply-and-divide-decimals-word-problems for extra practice. This is a skill we will use all year so it is always good to go back to it from time to time.
