TEACHER APPRECIATION

I just want to thank all that played a part in such a wonderful week last week. The LIW PTO really spoiled the teachers and many students participated in the activities as well. Thank you again!

READING CHALLENGE

Two weeks ago, I sent home a "Slide into Summer" Reading Challenge for the kids to participate in. I have had SEVERAL students not turn in any reading logs. I hope you are aware of the challenge and can continue to push your child to read. I understand that this time of year can get crazy busy, but I hope students can still find time to read at home. We're starting Book Clubs right now, so they might have those books to read in the evenings. Reading logs are due on Mondays.

Peanut Free

Just a reminder that LIW Elementary is a peanut-free campus. Please do not send any food items that contain peanuts/peanut butter to school, especially packed in their lunches. Thank you for helping keep all of our students safe!

Goodbye to Miss Thompson

We celebrated Miss Thompson with a farewell party. She graduated from DSU on Saturday, May 4th. We wish her all the best!

American Revolution "Spy" Clotheslines

We're studying The American Revolution in Social Studies. We read a book about Maddy Rose and how she used her clothesline as a code to warn soldiers about ships. We tried making our own using supplies from our classroom!

Inflatables Fun

We celebrated the end of the testing window with National Guard inflatables. Thank you, Miss Lindstrom, for the fun activity!

Science Experimenting

The students filtered dirty water in Mrs. Johnson's Science class.

Last Bulldog Store

THANK YOU to the LIW PTO for sponsoring Bulldog Store again this year. The students cashed in all of their red tickets!
