August 9, 2019

It’s almost that time! We’re less than a week from welcoming everyone back from the summer break! Teachers will return on Monday, and the school will be abuzz again! Have a great weekend and best of luck getting those kiddos back on that school schedule next week! ;-)

The First Day of School is Thurs, Aug 15!

Back to School Nights

We will once again be hosting two Back to School Nights for our students and parents. Dates and times are:

  • 6th Grade: Wed, Aug 14 from 6-7:30pm

  • 7/8 Grade: Wed, Aug 21 from 6-7:30pm

Note to Parents of 6th Graders: Please have your child bring their class schedule that they received at registration (or take a picture of it on your phone) as you will be following their schedule and visiting all of their classes throughout the evening. See you tomorrow!

Important Info for 8th Graders

We still have some 8th grade students who have not yet provided proof of having the Tdap and Meningococcal vaccines. Unfortunately, since these immunizations are required by state law, those students will not be allowed to attend school until proof is provided. Please contact our school nurse, Tammy Kobush with any questions.

Student Schedules

If your student has not yet picked up their class schedule or has misplaced their schedule, don’t worry! All students will be given a new copy of their schedule in the gym Thursday morning before school begins. (Please note that there is a slight possibility schedules may have changed due to a large number of new students and the need to adjust class sizes.) Students will find out their Pirate Time assignments at this time.

Text Notifications - Important!

The District, as well as PCMS, uses text messaging to notify parents of upcoming events and days off, school closings due to inclement weather/misc emergency situations, and important reminders/info. To be able to receive these text messages, you MUST Op-In.

  • Newly Enrolled Families: You will automatically receive an Opt-In text message from 68453. Simply text “Yes” to 67587 to begin receiving text messages.

  • Previously Enrolled Families: If you have not been receiving text messages from PCMS or PCR-3, be sure to text “Yes” to 67587 to begin receiving text messages.

Car Rider/Bus Rider Procedures

Car Riders

Please enter the parking lot using the north entrance at the front of the building. Pull along the sidewalk in front of the building. Students can get out anywhere along this sidewalk if there is a line. To keep traffic flowing, please do not wait until you get to the front door to have your student get out of the car (if there is a line). Teachers and Administrators will be on duty to help guide cars and students.

Bus Riders

Buses will drop off and pick up students in the west parking lot at the back of the building. Please stay clear of the bus rider area during arrival and dismissal.
