FRONT DESK QUESTION OF THE WEEK
ANSWER: USDA has approved Nationwide waivers for the 21-22 school year that allow all students to have breakfast and lunch at no charge. Second meals will be charged the adult price.
If a student brings a sack lunch, the milk is considered a la carte. A la carte purchases are not included in any free meal program. Milk is an a la carte item if purchased separate from a meal. The cost of a milk is $.35 for all students regardless of their eligibility for free or reduced meals. Middle and High School students are offered a variety of “a la carte” items for breakfast and lunch. These items are available and priced the same for all students. If a student is eligible for free or reduced meals and would like to purchase a la carte items, money may be deposited in their meal account to cover these purchases. A la carte items meet Smart Snack requirements.
