Our Highlights: What We've Been Rockin' At!
We have been working hard on our People Who Made a Difference Unit. Students are all finished with researching about their person and are just finishing up the last bits of publishing their biography books on their person. It is so amazing to see what their research has helped them discover, their understanding of how people in the past have made a difference in the world (and for us today), and have been able to apply their knowledge to create a book to share with the world. Students are not only creating a book, but they are also creating a portrait of their person in Art Class with the amazing Ms. Arzaga. Students are currently working on their speeches in class and getting ready for their big showcase presentations of the Living Wax Museum on March 17th.
Remember that as parents you can now help your child with memorizing their speech this coming week and helping them get dressed as their person for the showcase on March 17th. They should come to school dressed as their famous person but should bring a change of clothes (their uniform) to change into after for the rest of the day. There are a few examples below from last year if you are wondering what a costume of their famous person might look like.
I can't to see what this year holds! The students designed some pretty amazing costumes in class. I'm looking forward to seeing them come to life. Let me know if you have any questions!

People Who Made a Difference Living Wax Museum
This will be the showcase of a project where the students have researched and studied about a person who made a positive difference in the world and changed history. They will be displaying their biographical book that they published about the person, sharing a speech they wrote about their person, and acting as the person (in full costume and all!)
I invite you to reach out to your friends and family to also come. The students feel such a sense of pride in their work when they are complete and they love being able to show all they have learned. Students will be presenting from 9:00-9:55 to anyone who walks by and presses their button in order to allow them to come to life and tell their life story.
We will be in and around our classroom, N5.
