Happy New Year from Faith Journey Bible Studies
The year is off to a fresh start! Time to reflect on our priorities and think about new ways to live as women of faith. What will the New Year bring in terms of opportunities to serve Christ and give back to our community? Faith Journey’s Stepping Out newsletter will help you get connected! Thank you for your prayerful consideration of how the Lord may be leading you and your FJ group to get involved in community outreach in the New Year!

Monthly Ministry Highlight-Folsom's Hope
Folsom’s Hope….Caring for Children by Strengthening Families.
Vision: Folsom’s Hope exists to care for children through academic, recreational and spiritual enrichment, and to provide tools to help strengthen their families, so that families will move from a place of dependency and need, to a place of self-sufficiency and productivity.
Testimonial from founder, Salwa Kasabian
“Back in 2008, when God called myself and my children to Theodore Judah Elementary School, I had no idea what His plan was for my family and for me personally. Looking back, I can now see that He had to bring me to a place of trust with Him - enough trust that I was able to take a leap of faith and uproot my children to a new school home. The first six months of my journey at Theodore Judah were really just God opening my eyes and showing me the need, and allowing me a feel a piece of His heart for these children. He would then launch me on mission, and over the years He has faithfully opened doors and brought everything I need to further His plan and purpose for what is now the ministry of Folsom's hope.
In a nutshell, this journey has been one of surrendering the plans I had for my life to those that God has for me; one of trusting God fully and realizing that He is Who He says He is - Faithful, True, Loving, and ultimately the only One we can truly depend upon. It is a journey that has allowed me to grow closer to Jesus each day, to see that He is still the God of miracles, to allow Him to heal the broken places in my life, and to trust Him entirely with my life and the lives of my husband and children. And, ultimately, I am continually reminded that Folsom's Hope is not about me - It has changed me and will continue to change me, as I follow God's leading and direction for this ministry. But Folsom's Hope is about God's plan for this community, this City we call home, and He loves to work through the weak things of this world to shame the wise, for His glory. Jesus is Folsom's Hope!”
