Chlamydia

What is it?

Chlamydia

Chlamydia can be transmitted by having unprotected vaginal, anal, or oral sex with someone who is positive for chlamydia.
Treatment for Chlamydia is easy and won't take long. Daily antibiotics prescribed by your doctor for you and your sexual partner is all it takes for Chlamydia to be gone.

If you do contract Chlamydia it is your responsibility to tell your sexual partner(s) that you have this STD as it will spread from person-to-person. Also notify your doctors, dentists, and anyone who will make contact with your eyes and mouth.

Pregnancy and Chlamydia

Chlamydia in woman could prevent her from being able to have children. However if you are pregnant and tested positive for Chlamydia you must get yourself treated. Untreated Chlamydia during pregnancy could cause a premature baby and pass pneumonia or eye infection to your newborn.
