Wellness Wednesday

This week’s Wellness Wednesday challenged the students with this quote: “Sometimes the greatest gift you can give another person is to simply include them.”

The kids had great ideas of ways they can include others positively in their school day. How does this translate into your home? How about a family game night where all members are part of the fun? What about a walk after school to just connect and talk? We have an extra hour of sleep this weekend...I smell a pancake family breakfast on Sunday for everyone in the house!

Walk-a-thon for Veterans, November 9

As in past years, AMS will resume our school-wide efforts in support of area veterans. The entire AMS community will be walking to honor our local veterans and, beginning November 1, we will gratefully accept donations to help support them in meeting their basic needs . Each grade will wear a different color and carry a service flag on the day of the Walk-a-thon as follows:

  • 5th grade: Air Force Flag & American Flag - RED
  • 6th grade: Army Flag & Coast Guard Flag - BLUE
  • 7th grade: Marine Corps Flag & American Flag - WHITE
  • 8th grade: Navy Flag & POW Flag - BLACK

In recent years, our generous AMS community has supported the Manchester VA Hospital Outreach Program through the purchase of gift cards for groceries and gasoline. We will have collection jars in the lobby for donations of cash or checks made payable to AMS beginning November 1. Since 2014, we've raised over $12,000. Thank you in advance for your support!
