Happy Spring!
I can’t believe that we are in the final quarter of the school year! It really has been a great year here at Ludwig! Many of our students have grown tremendously during the school year. Clothes that fit last fall might be too short or too tight this spring! There is nothing worse than trying to sit and concentrate if the waistband is too tight and it is too hard to breathe!
Thank you to everyone who donated in one way or another to our St. Baldrick’s Foundation to fight childhood cancer. Ms. Grahovec organized our 4th annual St. Baldrick’s Open Gym Social on March 22. We had a fantastic turn out and the kids had a great time! Students in both 4th and 5th grade, under the direction of Mr. Hagedorn, Mrs. Middleton, Mrs. Novak, Ms. Haywood, and Mrs. Creek, completed a six-hour podcast-a-thon that raised funds for St. Baldrick’s. We collected well over $3500 to donate to this organization between the t-shirt sales, Open Gym Social admissions, concession sales, and the podcast!

Surpassed our expectations!
Even though the end of the school year is coming near, please continue to look in folders and assignment notebooks for information about events, field trips, report cards, and activities! Your continued partnership in your child’s education is greatly appreciated!
Our Game Day participation criteria were sent home on March 16. Students should have returned the signed form back to school to ensure the expectations for qualifying are understood. This year’s Game Day will be on May 31. Please consider volunteering for this event to make it a success! It is a celebration of a great 4th quarter and a successful school year! I hope you can help us make this day great! More information will be coming home.
Plans for the 2018-2019 school year are underway. Registration packets were sent home on March 16 with your student. Please read them carefully and return the corrected personal information sheet, or if there are no corrections, return as is. This will indicate who will be returning to D92 next year and allow us to start planning! These forms must be returned as soon as possible! Keep in mind, if you pay before May 18th, a $10.00 discount will be applied.
Please help me ensure our students’ safety! When dropping students off or picking them up, please do not drive down Table Street. This is very disruptive for the residents who live on this street. Please enter our parking lot from State Street and proceed through the line to drop off or pick up your child(ren).
Administrative Professionals Day is on April 25. We are very fortunate to have Mrs. Wagner, Mrs. Sterka, and Mrs. Vacuda provide support to our staff, parents, and students every day! The school would not run without these amazing ladies!!
Have a wonderful Spring Break! Enjoy the break with your friends and family!
Yours truly,
Lisa Lyke
