The Core
As we enter the holiday season, student and staff at NEMS are not only celebrating various occasions but are also celebrating academic accomplishments.
- To celebrate their hard work and accomplishments, 8th grade students participated in a hallway hangout.
- An honor roll breakfast was held for students with all A's or A's and B's on their report card.
- The 7th grade Achievers team have been working hard on literary terms using Mocking Jay. Students and staff also went to the theater to see the movie.
- In addition, Chorus and Band Students had their winter concert this week.

Teachers are using apps on the devices like Kahoot, Britannica, Lensoo, Trading Cards, Math Maps and others to help increase student engagement and achievement.

Winter sports are under way and teams are preparing for competition as well as representing Northeast Middle School in a positive way.
- The Wrestling team had a match against Penn Griffin. Though they fought hard and represented NEMS with sportsmanship, but they came up short of the victory.
- The boys and girls basketball teams both showed how hard work pays off by posting wins against Penn Griffin.
- Both teams have games on Dec. 15th and 18th before the holiday break. Good luck Rams!!!
