Principal's Corner
Thank you for your partnership in Christian Education, and a special thanks if you were one of the 20,612 voters who recently voted Red Hill Lutheran School BEST FAITH-BASED ELEMENTARY & JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL in Orange County as part of the 17th annual Reader’s Choice Awards in Parenting OC Magazine. If you have not already, please pick up a copy of the September issue of Parenting OC Magazine and read all about it!
We truly do value and cherish our partnership with parents in the eternally important process of Christian Education here at RHLS. With our school year well underway now, it is important to keep communicating with your child’s teachers. Help encourage your child to share how their school day went, ask them what they did, what new things they learned, and how they were challenged. Our teachers are always available to help and provide information with and for you and your child, do not hesitate to ask.
Thanks again for your trust and partnership.

Preschool Director Newsletter: September
Join Us Sunday for Staff Dedication Family Day at Red Hill Lutheran Church
All families are invited to join us for worship at 10 am.
All preschool - 5th Grade kids can be checked in at the Children's Ministry Table on the patio and then head into church to begin worship as a family. At the beginning of the service, we will hear the students from RHLS sing, and then we will pray for the teachers. Pastor Seth will dismiss all the kids for ministry to the new K.I.D.S. Zone. Preschool - 5th Grade kids will meet together for a lesson and small group time. Following the service, all children can be picked up in the K.I.D.S. Zone. All families are invited to stay and enjoy a pancake breakfast with our Red Hill Church and School community!
We're going to launch the year right and help kids launch into a deeper relationship with Jesus!
We hope you are able to join us for this special celebration!

September 8th: Orange Opening Day!
We are so excited for this Sunday! Our teachers and staff will be dedicated as they serve your children in this new academic year. Our church partners with us in all areas, and we hope you will come join us for this incredible start to our academic year - it is also the kick off for fall programming here! If you aren't part of a faith community right now, we would love for you to check us out! If you are part of a church already, come for the wonderful experience AND for a delicious, free pancake breakfast immediately following the service! We are so excited for the year ahead and look forward to partnering with you!
September 15th: Confirmation Parent Meeting, 11:30 am, Peter's Parish
Parents of students in 6th - 8th grade, you are invited to a special student and parent information meeting to begin our Confirmation year. We have worked hard to create a program that will be a value to you and your student. One of the major shifts this year is that Confirmation instruction will not be part of Wednesday night youth. If you are interested in learning more, joining this terrific learning opportunity, or have questions, please join us in Peter's Parish on September 15th for an information meeting. We will provide snacks and drinks and hope to see you there! If you have questions, please email Shelli Haynes, shaynes@redhillchurch.org or Pastor Seth Britton, sbritton@redhillchurch.org.
Parents, We Have Your Back!
We know that each development stage and phase of childhood comes with a new set of norms and parental skills needed to make sure we are connecting and loving our kids in the most effective ways. Our Youth and Family Ministry department is dedicated to curating the most engaging and instructive resources for parents of kids 0 - 18 and beyond! We have a Resource Library located in the church narthex (lobby) that you can check out on the "honor system" and enjoy on your time schedule. If you have any questions about preschool events or resources specifically for that age group, please email Carmen Gogosha, our Preschool Coordinator! If you have children in Kindergarten - 5th grade and are looking for resources or devotions that speak into their life stage, please email Beth Stoffregen, our Children's Ministry Coordinator. If you are a middle school parent and you have questions about Middle School ministry, upcoming retreats, camps, or events, or would like to read up on your middle schooler's development (why do they act that way?) please email Phil Gaylor, Middle School Ministry Coordinator.

Dave Ramsey's Financial Peace University
Begins September 18, 2019!
Financial Peace University (FPU) is a nine-week video curriculum on money management taught by financial expert Dave Ramsey. Red Hill Lutheran Church will be hosting this
class on Wednesday nights at 7:00 pm beginning September 18th. Almost 550 families
have completed this course when we offered it last fall. The average participant of that class
experienced a financial turn-around of approximately $2,700 in just 9 weeks! The course is
based on more than 800 verses of Scripture and is a proven plan to help individuals and families take control of their money, regardless of their current financial situation.
There is a materials and membership fee of $129 to take this class. This is the cost that the
Dave Ramsey group charges, not the church. This fee covers all class materials, including audio CD’s of all the lessons, book, workbook, envelope system, and a lifetime membership in
Financial Peace University. This means you can repeat the class as often as you’d like. This is a small investment to make in your financial health. You can sign up online via the Dave Ramsey website at www.daveramsey.com/fpu/classfinder and search for classes in Tustin.
Our class should be at the top of the list. Click register to sign up. If you already have an FPU membership, select the box for “I already have class materials.” Otherwise, leave this box unchecked. You will receive your materials during the first week of the class. You may also sign up by contacting our class coordinator, Vivianne Kitano, at viviannekitano@hotmail.com or call 714-296-7289.
FREE Nursery and childcare available for children through 5th grade. Please register your
children in advanced by contacting the class coordinator. We will have some guest speakers,
light snacks each week and many books and resources available for class members to borrow.
The coordinator that leads this class was trained by Dave Ramsey's team in Tennessee. This is the 9th class the coordinator has taught. You will really enjoy this class. Please RSVP early, space is limited and we always fill up. Hope you can join us!
