Mrs. Inman's Happenings
We are preparing to celebrate our veterans at Paine Elementary School for Veterans Day on Tuesday, November 14th. Our school wants to show our veterans how much we appreciate their service to our country by providing each of them with a FREE lunch. Veterans are invited to come to our school and eat lunch in our north campus gym. If you, or someone in your family is a veteran and would like to join us for our Veterans Day Lunch, please sign up under the grade level/time frame that you will be able to join us so that we can get an approximate number of additional lunches to prepare. The sign up is based on when each class eats lunch. Please sign up using the link associated with the campus in which your child’s classroom is located on.
We are accepting lunch pre-orders this year for visitors who will be accompanying veterans. Lunch will be $5. It includes your meal along with tea or water. Please return the pre-order form, along with your payment to the school no later than November 6th. Pre-order forms will be sent home today with students.
If you or your company would like to contribute financially towards purchasing lunch for our veterans, please contact me at email@example.com or our front office staff. Our office coordinator will happily provide business donation letters if needed. Thank you in advance for your help. We are looking forward to celebrating all of our veterans!!

Paine Elementary School
Our students are enjoying reader's workshop time. They are learning to enjoy nonfiction literature. We will be using an online library called Epic.
While the students are reading examples of nonfiction, they are also beginning to write their own pieces. We are encouraging the students to write about things they are "experts" about. Examples might be: taking dance, riding a bike, or soccer.
Students will solve addition problems with efficiency. Students will choose counting on and making ten when one addend is 7, 8, or 9. We will also begin using subtraction to solve word problems. Students will practice their math skills with math games and daily word problems in their math journal.
