A Message from the Principal...
Dear friends,
With 6th Grade Olympics and Memorial Day behind us, we are officially in the final stretch. Speaking of 6th Grade Olympics, many thanks to all the 6th grade teachers for hosting another successful event. A special thank you goes out to Debi Johnson, Rand Knapp and Coach Spy for their above and beyond efforts to coordinate this massive undertaking...ensuring the facilities were ready and the parent volunteers were on board.
I also want to publicly acknowledge the efforts of our Shared Governance Team for the leadership this year. Andy Moreau and Kathy Meyer will be leaving the Operational Team this year. Coach Spy (PE/Electives) and Danielle Rubacky (6th) will pick up where they leave off. Katie Fixsen (Social Studies) and Megan Andrade (Math) will fill the spots vacated by Mikki Matautia and Michelle Cruz. All 12 representatives will be present for the annual "leadership hand-off meeting" on June 5th.
One final note...Mr. Moreau's 6th grade band students will "christen" the quad tonight at their End of Year Concert. If you have a minute before the end of the school year, please consider dropping the Foundation a thank you note for the new turf. I am sure they will appreciate it and the truth is, it never would have happened without their support.
Have a great week everyone!

One Book, One Twin Peaks: Legend by Marie Lu
What was once the western United States is now home to the Republic, a nation perpetually at war with its neighbors. Born into an elite family in one of the Republic's wealthiest districts, fifteen-year-old June is a prodigy being groomed for success in the Republic's highest military circles. Born into the slums, fifteen-year-old Day is the country's most wanted criminal. But his motives may not be as malicious as they seem.
From very different worlds, June and Day have no reason to cross paths—until the day June's brother, Metias, is murdered and Day becomes the prime suspect. Caught in the ultimate game of cat and mouse, Day is in a race for his family's survival, while June seeks to avenge Metias's death. But in a shocking turn of events, the two uncover the truth of what has really brought them together, and the sinister lengths their country will go to keep its secrets (Good Reads).
